Intensive Therapy Program
Intensive therapy is a form of therapy that provides longer and more frequent therapy sessions to accelerate progress and give your child a boost. The main goal is to achieve functional improvement quickly during this higher frequency and more intensive bout of therapy. Current research supports bursts of intensive therapy is beneficial for children to learn movements and helps them reach their goals.
What does intensive therapy look like at FAC?
- 3 week intensive program (with rest week following for current patients)
- Monday-Thursday
- 3 hours/day: 1 hour 1:1 PT, 1 hour 1:1 OT, 1 hour PT/OT combined intensive block (2 therapists:1 child)

Cost
Individual 1:1 PT and OT will be billed via insurance (*if able based on plan specifics), $2000 total private pay for combined intensive block (cost may very dependent on insurance)
General Intensive Criteria
–Must be able to tolerate 3 hours of therapy for 4 consecutive days
-If current patient, current treatment team will be consulted to determine if skilled intensive therapy is appropriate
-If not a current patient, evaluation must be completed before starting the intensive to determine if skilled intensive therapy is appropriate
-Recommended during times of major growth and development and/or for patients about to achieve a specific skill
-Main goal is to achieve functional improvement quickly during this higher frequent and more intensive bout of therapy
